Visa Joins Canton Network as Super Validator

2 reports · First detected 2026-03-25 · Last active 2026-03-27

Canton Network, co-developed by Digital Asset, is a privacy-enabled public blockchain designed for regulated financial institutions. It allows banks to process tokenized assets and payments on a shared ledger without exposing sensitive data such as trading positions, payroll information or collateral. Visa’s entry into the network’s core governance signals that major payments companies are pushing to institutionalize on-chain finance.

Visa announced on March 25, 2026, that it had joined Canton Network, becoming the first major global payments company to serve as a Super Validator and one of 40 Super Validators across the network. Visa will help validate transactions and govern the network, supporting banks as they expand stablecoin payments, settlement and treasury management. Neither party disclosed any investment or transaction value.
