Vera Rubin AI Platform Drives MLCC Demand; Walsin Technology to Raise Prices in June

NVIDIA’s next-generation Vera Rubin AI platform is expected to sharply increase high-end computing and power-delivery requirements, with a single system potentially requiring as many as 1 million multilayer ceramic capacitors, or MLCCs. That outlook is prompting AI server suppliers to bring forward orders. Passive components such as MLCCs and resistors are critical to power stability and signal quality, and rising demand has drawn market attention to supply and cost pressures.

Passive-component maker Walsin Technology said it would raise prices for resistors and certain capacitor products from June 2026, without disclosing the increases or the customers affected. It is the first Taiwanese supplier to explicitly raise prices in response to AI demand. The move shows that although Vera Rubin has yet to enter full-scale production, advance stockpiling is already feeding through to component prices.
