XRP’s 44% Rally Fuels Leverage, Heightening Pullback Risk
XRP’s 44% weekly rally has revived leveraged trading in the token’s derivatives market. Leverage can amplify gains but also accelerates losses when prices reverse, making crowded positioning a key source of market instability. If heavily concentrated long bets begin to unwind, forced liquidations could deepen an otherwise routine correction and produce sharper swings in XRP’s price.
CryptoQuant data show estimated leverage for XRP on Binance has climbed to its highest level since January, while long accounts substantially outnumber short accounts. Futures trading volume is now more than five times spot volume, indicating that borrowed capital is playing an outsized role in the advance. A drop through traders’ margin thresholds could therefore trigger cascading liquidations and intensify the pullback.
