AWS Launches Graviton-Powered Redshift RG Instances for AI Data Analytics

1 reports · First detected 2026-05-15 · Last active 2026-05-15

Amazon Web Services' Redshift is a cloud data warehousing service used by enterprises for business intelligence, data lake analytics and AI workloads. As AI agents drive more frequent queries, computing performance and data lake query costs have become key considerations for companies scaling adoption.

AWS has introduced Amazon Redshift RG instances powered by its internally developed Graviton processors and integrated with a data lake query engine. The company claims performance gains of up to 2.2 times. The instances also reduce reliance on the Redshift Spectrum component to lower query costs. AWS has not disclosed an exact release date, pricing or a regional rollout schedule.
