Derive Enables XRP Options Trading With FXRP Collateral

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-13 · Last active 2026-08-13

XRP Ledger’s limited native smart-contract capabilities have historically constrained holders seeking access to decentralized derivatives. Flare launched FXRP on its mainnet on Sept. 24, 2025, using the FAssets system to create a 1:1 representation of XRP that can interact with smart contracts. The structure gives XRP holders a programmable asset for trading, lending and other decentralized-finance applications while reducing reliance on centralized exchanges.

Decentralized derivatives exchange Derive completed its Flare integration on Aug. 13, 2026, allowing users to post FXRP as collateral for options and perpetual futures. Holders can use the facility to hedge XRP exposure, make directional trades or earn premiums by selling options without placing tokens in the custody of a centralized exchange. Derive and Flare did not disclose collateral limits, fee schedules or initial trading volume.

Flare Opens $280 Million Ethereum RLUSD Vault to XRP Holders2026-08-04 · 2 reports · similarity 0.85

XRP, the native asset of the XRP Ledger, has historically had limited access to Ethereum’s deep decentralized-finance markets. Flare’s FXRP creates a one-to-one representation of XRP that can be moved across compatible networks and deployed in smart-contract applications. Pairing that asset with RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar-backed stablecoin, gives holders a way to unlock liquidity while retaining exposure to XRP, expanding its role beyond payments and passive investment.

Flare said on Aug. 3, 2026, that users can convert XRP into FXRP, bridge it to Ethereum mainnet and deposit the token as collateral on the Morpho lending protocol. Borrowers can then draw RLUSD from a lending vault holding about $280 million without selling their XRP. The approval marks the first time an XRP-linked asset has been accepted as collateral by an institutional-grade lending vault on Ethereum, connecting XRP liquidity with one of DeFi’s largest credit markets.
