China Robotics AI Firm Dexmal Seeks $3 Billion Valuation
Dexmal develops embodied artificial intelligence and control systems designed to help robots perceive their surroundings and operate in the physical world. The company is part of China’s rapidly expanding push into humanoid robots, a sector seen as a key route for applying AI in manufacturing, logistics and services. Its previous funding, led by Alibaba Group, also underscored growing interest from major Chinese technology companies in the emerging industry.
Dexmal is seeking a valuation of 20 billion yuan, or about $3 billion, in a new funding round, according to the latest report. Negotiations remain underway, and the company has not disclosed the amount it plans to raise, the prospective investors or a target completion date. A deal at that valuation would provide another gauge of investor appetite for Chinese embodied-AI startups as capital flows into robotics accelerate.
