RAKBANK Posts Record H1 Profit on NIM Strength, Asset Sale
RAKBANK, formally National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah PJSC, is a listed UAE lender whose earnings are closely tied to loan growth, funding costs and the mix of low-cost deposits. Its net interest margin, or NIM, is a key gauge of recurring profitability and balance-sheet efficiency. The first-half result is significant because it combines strong underlying spreads and franchise growth with a sizable one-off gain, making the split between operating momentum and asset-sale proceeds important for investors.
On July 23, RAKBANK said profit after tax for the six months ended June 30, 2026 rose 25% from a year earlier to a record AED 1.7 billion. Results included an AED 473 million gain from the sale of its merchant acquiring business, while NIM stood at 3.9%. Customer deposits climbed 23% to AED 75.1 billion and total assets increased 14% to AED 108.6 billion. The impaired-loan ratio improved to 1.8% from 2.1% a year earlier.
