Nethermind Leaves LayerZero Verifier Role to Operate Chainlink Node

Nethermind is a prominent Ethereum engineering company whose work spans execution clients, research and blockchain infrastructure. Its shift is significant because LayerZero and Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, or CCIP, both seek to move messages, data and assets securely between blockchains, but rely on different verification and risk-management designs. Infrastructure providers such as Nethermind help determine how resilient those systems are against faulty data, operational failures and attacks.

Nethermind said it has withdrawn from its verifier role with LayerZero and joined Chainlink as a node operator. The company will help secure Chainlink’s CCIP infrastructure and data feeds, extending its responsibilities beyond Ethereum software development into oracle and cross-chain operations. The announcement did not disclose financial terms, a formal transition date or the number of nodes involved. The move concentrates Nethermind’s verification resources within Chainlink’s network while ending its direct role in LayerZero’s security framework.
