ACI Worldwide to Buy Cranium Ventures for Cloud Card Switching
ACI Worldwide provides real-time payments and banking software, including card-switching systems that route and authorize transactions among merchants, acquirers and issuing banks. Acquiring UK payments technology company Cranium Ventures would add cloud-native, microservices-based capabilities to ACI’s card-processing portfolio, helping financial institutions modernize legacy infrastructure and deploy services more flexibly as payment volumes and product requirements change.
ACI Worldwide said it has agreed to acquire Cranium Ventures and integrate the company’s cloud-native card-switching technology into its broader payments platform. The deal is intended to strengthen ACI’s card switching and payment-processing capabilities through a microservices architecture. The companies did not disclose the purchase price or other financial terms, and the announcement did not specify a closing date.
