Bitcoin Suisse Plans to Move Up to Half of Swiss Jobs Abroad

2 reports · First detected 2026-09-12 · Last active 2026-09-13

Bitcoin Suisse, a Swiss crypto financial-services company offering trading, custody and asset management, is reshaping its operating footprint as it expands its global wealth and asset-management business. The planned relocation is significant because it highlights the cost pressure facing Switzerland-based digital-asset firms even when they are pursuing growth, with administrative and support functions increasingly suited to lower-cost international hubs abroad.

Bitcoin Suisse plans to move as many as 60 back-office and administrative roles from Switzerland to lower-cost locations including Slovakia and Vietnam, a shift equivalent to roughly half of its Swiss workforce. Chief Executive Andrej Majcen said the plan is intended to reduce operating expenses and support the expansion of the company’s global asset-management activities, rather than respond to weakness in crypto markets. As of Sept. 13, 2026, Bitcoin Suisse had not disclosed targeted savings or a firm implementation date.
