Solana Policy Institute-Backed PAC Pours Millions Into Fight Against Sherrod Brown’s Senate Bid

2 reports · First detected 2026-04-16 · Last active 2026-04-16

Sherrod Brown, a former chair of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee and a longtime cryptocurrency critic, lost his Ohio seat to Republican Bernie Moreno in 2024, when the crypto industry spent more than $40 million to help defeat him. Brown is now seeking a return to the Senate in a race that could affect both digital-asset legislation and control of the chamber.

On April 15, 2026, Sentinel Action Fund pledged $8 million to support Republican Jon Husted. FEC records show the PAC had raised $9 million as of the end of March, including $750,000 from the Solana Policy Institute and $250,000 from Multicoin Capital. As of April 14, it had not reported any spending in support of Husted.
