Hyperliquid Founder Jeff Yan Says Hard Work Comes Before Shortcuts
Hyperliquid co-founder Jeff Yan has drawn attention beyond the decentralized exchange’s operations for his views on entrepreneurship and performance. Yan argues that people pursuing exceptional outcomes should first develop the capacity for sustained, demanding work instead of immediately seeking ways to “work smart.” His message frames discipline and focus as prerequisites for efficiency, rather than qualities that can be replaced by shortcuts.
In his latest remarks, Yan said he once spent about 17 hours a day building trading systems and suggested that those serious about success should train themselves to sustain 100 focused hours a week. After identifying a mission, he said, founders should commit fully. The intensity, in his view, creates pressure to improve productivity and optimize time, routines and other aspects of daily life.
