DV8 Acquires Rakkar Digital to Expand Bitcoin Custody Footprint
DV8 is a Thai-listed company that pivoted to a Bitcoin treasury and digital-asset business after investors including Sora Ventures took control in 2025. Rakkar Digital was established as a joint venture between SCBX and Fireblocks and holds a custody license from Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission. The acquisition gives DV8 regulated infrastructure and fills a critical gap in its institutional-grade asset-management capabilities in Asia.
DV8 signed a share purchase agreement on March 24, 2026, and completed the acquisition of a 99.99% stake in Rakkar Digital on April 20. The value of the share transaction was not disclosed. DV8 will also inject up to 100 million baht from its own funds to support operations and regulatory capital requirements. Rakkar had more than $700 million in assets under custody as of December 24, 2024.
