Wallet Linked to Vitalik Buterin Moves 7,000 ETH, Sparking Community Alarm
The on-chain fund movements of Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin are often viewed by the market as a gauge of confidence. The “0xD04” wallet, believed to be closely linked to him, previously received funds from Buterin. A large transfer while ETH prices were weakening therefore raised concerns that the assets could be sent to an exchange and cashed out. The report did not disclose a verifiable transaction date.
After about a year of inactivity, “0xD04” transferred 7,000 ETH, worth about $11.06 million at the time. On-chain analysis showed that similar past transfers from the wallet were often followed by deposits to exchanges, fueling community concerns about potential selling pressure. However, there is currently no evidence that Buterin personally initiated the transfer or that the ETH has been sold.
