Maverick Payments Uses Partner APIs to Accelerate Merchant Growth
Payments providers traditionally relied on in-house sales teams to recruit merchants one account at a time, a costly model that can constrain expansion. Maverick Payments is pursuing a broader distribution strategy through independent sales organizations, or ISOs, and independent software vendors, known as ISVs. By giving those partners technology and API access, the company aims to reach more merchants while improving the economics and scalability of its digital-payments business.
Maverick Payments is now strengthening partner tools that automate merchant onboarding, data transfers and underwriting reviews, according to the latest report. The one-to-many model allows ISO and ISV partners to bring multiple businesses onto the platform without requiring the payments company to handle every step manually. The report did not disclose partner counts, processing volumes, financial terms or a specific announcement date, but identified API-led automation as a central driver of merchant growth.
