Google Highlights Five AI-Powered Ways to Upgrade Home Decor

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-26 · Last active 2026-08-26

Google is extending Search beyond keywords into a visual shopping assistant, linking inspiration, product discovery and price research through Gemini models, Google Lens and its Shopping Graph. The company said on May 19, 2026 that consumers shop across Google more than 1 billion times a day, while the Shopping Graph contains over 60 billion product listings. Home decor is a useful test case because buyers often need to judge scale, color and style in a real room before committing to bulky, expensive items.

In a guide published Aug. 26, 2026, Google highlighted five ways to use Search for home projects rather than announcing five entirely new products. Shoppers can generate shoppable room inspiration in AI Mode, preview eligible furniture with “View in your space,” identify objects through the Google Lens camera, and use Circle to Search to select lamps, rugs or other items seen on a screen and find similar products. Search also lets users compare offers, review price history and activate price tracking for notifications when an item becomes cheaper.
