BCP Settles First $GOVY Trade With Sterling Stablecoin
BCP Technologies’ tGBP is a sterling stablecoin backed one-for-one by reserves and issued by a firm registered with Britain’s Financial Conduct Authority. Archax’s $GOVY, launched on June 17, 2026, provides legally enforceable exposure to automatically rolling short-dated U.S. Treasury bills. Combining the instruments matters because both the security and payment leg can move on-chain, reducing reliance on conventional banking rails for settlement.
BCP said on September 2, 2026 that it completed the first purchase and settlement of $GOVY using tGBP through Archax, a digital-asset platform operating under regulatory oversight in the UK, EU and US. The companies did not disclose the transaction’s value. The live trade followed their June 25 distribution agreement and demonstrated near-instant, 24-hour delivery-versus-payment settlement, including interoperability between a dollar-denominated Treasury product and sterling-denominated digital cash.
