ConnectPay Spins Out Serdis as Standalone Core Banking Product
Lithuanian fintech ConnectPay built Serdis, initially an internal project named Mars, to remove its reliance on a third-party core banking provider. Such systems are the ledger of record for balances and transactions, making resilience, regulatory reporting and operational control critical for electronic money institutions. Turning the technology into a commercial product gives EMIs and other financial companies access to an AWS-native platform that has already been tested in a live regulated business.
ConnectPay said on Sept. 16, 2026, that it had spun Serdis out as an independent commercial offering. The distributed microservices platform runs on Amazon Web Services’ Elastic Kubernetes Service and includes a tree-based general ledger, real-time balances, automated IBAN management, foreign-exchange and treasury engines, and native SEPA, SEPA Instant and Swift support. Serdis took over all ConnectPay live operations in July 2025, moving €14 billion of annual transaction volume in one weekend with no customer-visible downtime after nine months of parallel operation with the legacy provider.
