Forbes' World's Billionaires list measures wealth using individuals' shareholdings and corporate valuations, making it an important gauge of capital flows and industry influence. The 2026 rankings show that Tesla, SpaceX, xAI and the AI server supply chain have boosted the fortunes of technology founders, extending the AI boom's impact from corporate valuations to global and Taiwanese wealth rankings.

Forbes released the list on March 10 using data as of March 1. The world's 3,428 billionaires had a combined net worth of $20.1 trillion. Elon Musk retained the top spot with $839 billion. Terry Gou reclaimed the title of Taiwan's richest person with $15.3 billion, while AI server demand lifted Barry Lam into second place with $14.2 billion. Morris Chang ranked fifth with $8.4 billion.
