Major Tesla Shareholder Leo KoGuan Invests $180 Million in NVIDIA, Insists AI Is No Bubble
Leo KoGuan, a co-founder of IT services provider SHI International, was once one of Tesla’s largest individual shareholders. As investors question whether the AI investment boom has become a bubble, he has shifted into NVIDIA. Because its chips are central to generative AI infrastructure, the investment is seen as a vote of confidence in long-term AI demand.
KoGuan bought 1 million NVIDIA shares on March 3, 2026. The stock closed at $180.05 in New York that day, valuing the transaction at about $180 million. He later said AI was “not a bubble, but just the beginning” and plans to buy another 1 million shares in the near term, doubling his position and backing his conviction with a further investment.
