E.SUN Bank, Puli Christian Hospital Launch Sustainability-Linked Loan for Rural Healthcare

1 reports · First detected 2026-05-14 · Last active 2026-05-14

As Taiwan becomes a super-aged society, rural areas continue to face longstanding disparities in access to medical resources. Puli Christian Hospital, operated by the Puli Christian Medical Foundation, plays a key role in emergency care and other medical services in rural Nantou. It participates in the National Health Insurance Administration’s mobile medical-services program for mountainous Ren’ai Township and has established fast-track referral channels with metropolitan medical centers. E.SUN Bank is linking financial support to healthcare outcomes through a sustainability-linked loan, in line with UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 on good health and well-being and the principle of health equity.

E.SUN Bank announced its partnership with Puli Christian Hospital on May 12, 2026. Drawing on the concept of COP30’s Belém Health Action Plan, the sustainability-linked loan will support the operation of fixed-site medical centers and rural healthcare networks, alongside telemedicine, mobile clinics and outreach services. The parties did not disclose the loan amount, term or interest-rate conditions. The current focus is to tie financial support to measurable improvements in rural healthcare.
