L&G Hires Schroders’ Jamie Ovenden as Group Technology Chief

Legal & General is combining its technology, data and artificial intelligence operations as the British financial-services group seeks to simplify its structure and modernise systems across its asset management, retirement and insurance businesses. The integrated unit will be central to efforts to deploy AI, make better use of data and improve operating efficiency under the chief executive’s broader streamlining strategy.

L&G has hired Jamie Ovenden from Schroders as group chief technology officer to lead the newly integrated technology, data and AI division. The appointment adds a senior executive with experience at another major UK asset manager as L&G reshapes its leadership and operations. Chief Operating Officer Katie Worgan is also preparing to leave the company. L&G did not disclose Ovenden’s start date or compensation in the reported announcement.
