Goldman Sachs to Buy NEOS in $2.3 Billion Deal
Goldman Sachs has been expanding its exchange-traded fund franchise as active and options-based products draw investors seeking income, downside management and more flexible market exposure. The Wall Street firm completed its purchase of defined-outcome ETF specialist Innovator Capital Management on April 2, 2026, lifting Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s ETF assets under supervision to about $90 billion and giving it roughly 240 funds globally.
On August 12, 2026, Goldman Sachs said it agreed to acquire NEOS Investments for up to $2.25 billion in cash and stock, a price commonly rounded to $2.3 billion. The transaction is expected to add about $32 billion in assets under supervision and deepen Goldman’s reach in actively managed and options-based ETFs. NEOS’s income-oriented strategies will broaden the products Goldman distributes through financial advisers and retail channels.
