finby Partners With EPI to Bring Wero to Merchants
Wero, developed by the European Payments Initiative, is a pan-European digital wallet designed for fast and secure account-to-account payments and used by more than 48 million people. Its expansion matters because Europe’s payments market remains fragmented among national systems. Adding Wero would give finby’s ecommerce merchants a more unified checkout option while supporting EPI’s push for greater European control over payment infrastructure.
Finby said on Jan. 26, 2026, that it had signed a partnership with EPI to support Wero for its merchant network. The payment method was not yet live through finby at the time of the announcement, and the companies disclosed no transaction value, participating merchants or firm launch date. Finby said further implementation details would be released as the service moves closer to availability for merchants and consumers.
