Bitcoin Rally Lifts Strategy, Coinbase and Crypto Stocks
Strategy’s large bitcoin holdings have made its shares a leveraged proxy for the cryptocurrency, while Coinbase benefits from higher trading activity and Circle is exposed to growing stablecoin use. Crypto miners and treasury companies carry similar sensitivity to digital-asset prices, giving equity investors a way to participate in bitcoin rallies without holding the token directly.
As of Aug. 23, bitcoin climbed above $70,000 and touched $72,000 as short covering helped extend the rally. The move propelled a broad rebound in US-listed crypto stocks: Strategy surged nearly 12%, while Coinbase gained about 9% and Circle also rose roughly 9%. Miners and other bitcoin treasury companies advanced as the cryptocurrency’s strength translated into amplified gains across its equity proxies.
