AWS Launches FinOps Agent for AI-Powered Cloud Cost Management

FinOps brings finance, engineering and operations management together to help companies track cloud resource spending. As AWS services and billing structures grow increasingly complex, investigating cost anomalies often requires coordination across teams. Amazon Web Services is using agentic AI to automatically analyze the causes of spending increases, aiming to shorten investigations and improve budget governance.

AWS has launched FinOps Agent in public preview. The service can automatically investigate cloud cost anomalies and determine why spending has risen, while allowing engineers to query cost and usage data in natural language. As of July 20, 2026, it is available for trial in the US East region. AWS has yet to announce a general availability date or any additional fees.
