Taiwan Depository Launches Open Securities 2.0, Linking Futures and Financial Data

2 reports · First detected 2026-07-09 · Last active 2026-07-09

Taiwan has reached a new milestone in its open-finance push, with Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation launching Open Securities 2.0 in support of Financial Supervisory Commission policy. Investors previously had to manually upload paper proof of financial resources when opening margin accounts or seeking higher limits across brokerages, making the process highly cumbersome. The new framework aims to break down information barriers between markets, streamline financial applications and improve digital convenience. It also securely links securities and futures data across markets to build a more comprehensive digital-finance ecosystem.

Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation formally launched Open Securities 2.0 on July 8, 2026. The initial rollout brings together Taiwan Futures Exchange and eight brokerages, including SinoPac Securities and Yuanta Securities, to offer two applications: cross-market futures data integration and online transmission of financial-resource data. SinoPac Securities, one of the first participating brokerages, was the first to offer online recognition of financial resources for requests to raise limits to NT$1 million or more. The adjustment can take effect as early as the next business day, significantly reducing manual review time.
