Circle, Nium Partner to Support Agentic AI Cross-Border Payments With USDC

1 reports · First detected 2026-06-02 · Last active 2026-06-02

Agentic AI can autonomously place orders, make purchases and execute payments with little human intervention, but cross-border transactions remain constrained by banking hours, foreign-exchange processes and multiple layers of intermediaries. Connecting Circle's US dollar stablecoin USDC with Nium's global disbursement network provides agentic commerce with programmable financial infrastructure for real-time cross-border settlement.

Circle and fintech company Nium recently announced a partnership to integrate USDC settlement into Nium's global disbursement network, enabling AI agents to automate cross-border payments and fund disbursements. The companies have not disclosed the value of the partnership, its initial markets, transaction fees or a formal launch date. Existing reports also do not give an exact announcement date, and indicate that the arrangement centers on technology and network integration rather than an equity investment.
