SAP Unveils Autonomous Enterprise Strategy to Bring AI Agents Into Core Business Workflows

SAP has outlined its vision for the “autonomous enterprise,” using an enterprise knowledge graph to integrate fragmented data and give AI agents business context across finance, supply chains and human resources. The strategy is central to whether companies can move beyond generating content to automatically executing cross-departmental workflows while maintaining data governance and consistent decision-making.

As of July 20, 2026, SAP had announced a new Snowflake integration for Business Data Cloud, as well as knowledge graph capabilities and MCP support for HANA Cloud, with Joule serving as a unified work interface. SAP plans to deploy more than 200 specialized AI agents to carry out end-to-end business tasks but has not disclosed the related investment or a full rollout timetable.
