Beijing Bar Offers Free DeepSeek Access With Local AI Compute
Beijing’s AGI Bar is turning generative-AI computing into an in-venue service by running inference on an NVIDIA DGX Spark mini AI supercomputer. The local setup replaces usage-based cloud bills with an upfront hardware purchase, potentially reducing the marginal cost of each additional request. That makes free AI access a customer-acquisition tool designed to draw visitors into the bar and keep them on the premises.
Customers who connect to the venue’s Wi-Fi can receive a DeepSeek V4 Flash API Token and use it without stated limits while inside the bar. The report did not disclose the hardware purchase price, deployment date or usage volume. Even so, the experiment highlights a possible business model in which cheaper local inference supports venue-exclusive promotions rather than being sold as a standalone subscription.
