Marvell in Talks to Add TSMC’s A14 Process to AI Interconnect Chip Roadmap

Marvell, a major supplier of data-center and networking chips, is making high-speed connectivity central to its AI strategy. As AI supercomputing clusters expand, chip-to-chip bandwidth, latency and power consumption have a direct impact on overall performance, making advanced processes and high-speed interconnect chips critical data-center infrastructure.

Marvell is now in talks with TSMC to add its A14, or 1.4-nanometer, advanced process to the company’s product roadmap as it expands its data-center presence. Marvell’s chief operating officer said high-speed connectivity can increase bandwidth and reduce latency. As of the publication of the reports, neither company had disclosed the dates of the talks, a mass-production timetable or the amount of investment involved.
