Wyoming Adds Chainlink Reserve Verification for FRNT
Wyoming launched the Frontier Stable Token in January 2026, making FRNT the first fully reserved, fiat-backed stable token issued by a U.S. public entity. The Wyoming Stable Token Commission, established under a 2023 state law, backs the token with U.S. dollars and short-term Treasuries. Its transparency framework is closely watched as a test of whether government-issued digital money can meet institutional standards and the federal baseline set by the GENIUS Act.
The commission said on Sept. 2 it had adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve, with The Network Firm examining FRNT reserves and supply under AICPA standards and verified data delivered onchain in near real time. A planned Secure Mint feature would block new issuance unless verified reserves equal or exceed total supply. The move follows an Aug. 18 announcement that Wyoming had shifted FRNT across eight blockchains from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP after a security review.
