LINE’s Built-In Unifi Wallet Goes Live With Support for Japan’s First Yen Stablecoin, JPYC

JPYC is a Japanese stablecoin issuer whose yen-denominated stablecoin is designed to lower barriers to onchain payments and remittances. Its integration with the Unifi wallet developed in partnership with LINE gives Asian users access to Web3 financial services without leaving the messaging app, while expanding practical uses for yen-denominated digital assets.

JPYC said its yen stablecoin has formally gone live in LINE’s built-in Unifi wallet, allowing users to make payments and transfers directly within the LINE app. Unifi has a non-custodial architecture and runs on the Kaia blockchain. Available information does not disclose the exact launch date, issuance amount, transaction limits or fee structure.

USDT is pegged to fiat currency, making it suitable for transfers and payments. However, mainstream users entering Web3 often face complicated wallet operations, on-chain fees and speed constraints. LINE NEXT’s self-custody Unifi wallet combines stablecoin deposits, transfers and payments with automatic interest accrual. Its predecessor, Mini Dapp, attracted more than 130 million new registered users worldwide, making it an important foundation for Bito Group’s connection to Asia’s digital-finance ecosystem.

On April 21, 2026, Bito Group announced that its BitoPro exchange would support USDT transfers to and from Unifi through the Kaia blockchain, enabling fast, low-cost transfers between the exchange and wallet. BitoPro had already enabled USDT and KAIA deposits on the Kaia blockchain on Dec. 11, 2025, followed by withdrawals and a KAIA trading pair on Dec. 16. The companies did not disclose the investment amount or specific transaction fees for the partnership.
