March CPI Expectations Already Priced Into Bitcoin as Crypto Market Holds Steady

1 reports · First detected 2026-03-12 · Last active 2026-03-12

The U.S. Consumer Price Index influences the Federal Reserve’s rate path and risk-asset valuations, prompting Bitcoin to often price in expectations before the data are released. ETP issuer 21Shares said the market has already absorbed expectations of higher inflation in March, shifting attention to the Federal Open Market Committee’s policy response.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on March 11, 2026, that February CPI rose 2.4% from a year earlier and 0.3% from the previous month. Housing costs increased 0.2% month on month, food 0.4% and energy 0.6%, while core CPI gained 0.2%. Total 3 fell only about 1% from an intraday high of roughly $722 billion, while 21Shares forecast Bitcoin would trade between $68,000 and $74,000 in the near term.
