Mandiant Releases M-Trends 2026 Global Cybersecurity Report
Google-owned cybersecurity company Mandiant compiles global incident-response and intrusion-investigation data each year. Its M-Trends report tracks attack methods, how quickly victim organizations detect breaches and gaps in their defenses. These metrics help companies assess their detection and response capabilities while showing whether the risks from ransomware, espionage and data theft continue to grow.
The latest M-Trends 2026 report found that about 40% of organizations worldwide can detect an intrusion within one week, indicating that monitoring and reporting efficiency has improved at some organizations. Mandiant warned, however, that the trend showed signs of reversing in 2025. Companies still need to strengthen continuous monitoring, threat hunting and incident response to prevent attackers from remaining undetected for longer.
