Gartner Sees Global AI Security Market Reaching $4.8 Billion in 2027
Rapid adoption of generative AI and autonomous agents is creating new attack surfaces across models, applications and data access. Gartner says emerging vulnerabilities and third-party supply-chain risks are driving demand for safeguards, turning AI security from an experimental technical concern into a core enterprise governance and cybersecurity spending priority as companies deploy the technology more widely.
Gartner forecasts the global AI security market will reach $4.783 billion in 2027, an increase of nearly 70% from a year earlier, before approaching $7.7 billion in 2028. By 2029, half of attacks targeting AI agents are expected to involve access controls and prompt injection. AI application security and controls governing AI use are projected to be the market’s largest and fastest-growing protection segments.
