Latin America’s Largest Stock Exchange Launches Options on Bitcoin and Ether Futures
B3, Brazil’s stock exchange and the largest in Latin America, has moved aggressively in recent years to integrate cryptocurrencies into traditional finance. As institutional demand surges for regulated, low-risk channels to hedge crypto exposure, B3 has laid the groundwork for the region’s crypto derivatives market. It previously launched bitcoin futures in April 2024, followed by ether and Solana futures in June 2025.
B3 formally launched options on bitcoin, ether and Solana futures on July 6, 2026. The products are regulated by Brazil’s Securities and Exchange Commission, or CVM. Bitcoin options are denominated in Brazilian reais, while ether and Solana options are denominated in U.S. dollars. The contracts are automatically exercised and settled into futures positions, avoiding the risks of physically custodying tokens while giving institutional investors a broader range of regulated hedging tools.
