Grok Bot Opens Beta With Cloud Computer Access

Personal AI agents are moving beyond chat interfaces toward digital workers that can act inside a computer. Grok Bot, developed by SpaceXAI and Cursor, runs on a cloud-based Linux virtual machine and can navigate websites, open files and use applications. The approach matters because it could automate knowledge work without keeping a user’s laptop online, but it also requires access to accounts, data and authenticated sessions, raising security and trust questions.

SpaceXAI and Cursor opened Grok Bot’s early beta on Aug. 11, 2026. Cursor’s head of developer experience said tests showed the agent could continue handling research and routine chores after a laptop was closed, while a handoff feature returned control to the user for logins before the bot resumed. Access is currently tied to premium subscriptions, including Cursor Ultra at $200 a month and SuperGrok Heavy at $300 a month; Teams Premium costs $120 per user per month.
