Estonia's FSA Issues Investor Warning Over Crypto Exchange Zondacrypto

2 reports · First detected 2026-05-09 · Last active 2026-05-19

Zondacrypto is operated by Estonia-registered BB Trade Estonia OÜ and primarily serves customers in Poland. The European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) requires white papers to remain publicly available while tokens are traded, ensuring investors have access to issuance and risk information. Polish prosecutors are also investigating the platform over blocked withdrawals, with preliminary losses estimated at no less than 350 million zlotys.

On May 8, 2026, Estonia's Financial Supervision and Resolution Authority (FSA) issued a warning to BB Trade Estonia OÜ, saying the TeamPL token's white paper was not publicly available in breach of Article 9(1) of MiCA. On May 18, Estonia's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) partially suspended the company's license, barring it from accepting additional assets from existing customers or soliciting new customers. The operator was given 30 days to remedy the violations, while withdrawals by existing customers remained unaffected.
