Taiwan Regulator Flags Five Insurance Checks Ahead of Father’s Day
Insurance is a key part of household risk management, but coverage needs can shift as people marry, raise children, take on mortgages or approach retirement. Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission said fathers at different life stages should regularly review existing policies and assess whether life, medical and accident insurance would adequately cover lost income, health costs and family obligations.
Ahead of Taiwan’s Aug. 8 Father’s Day, the FSC highlighted five issues consumers should check before buying coverage: the scope of protection, policy duration, the relationship between main policies and riders, exclusions, and waiting periods for illnesses or specified benefits. The regulator urged customers to read policy terms carefully and match products to their needs to reduce misunderstandings and potential claims disputes.
