Check Point Warns Generative AI Is Exposing Corporate Data

Generative AI has become embedded in everyday corporate workflows, with employees using external models to draft documents, analyze information and troubleshoot technical issues. Check Point says that adoption is outpacing the policies, data-classification rules and access controls needed to govern those tools, creating new channels through which personal information, financial records and details of internal IT architecture can leave an organization.

Check Point’s latest findings show that 88% of organizations with frequent AI use face high-risk prompt activity. The cybersecurity company estimates that one in every 36 prompts carries a risk of exposing sensitive information, with personal data, financial details and IT architecture among the main categories involved. The figures highlight a widening gap between employees’ rapid uptake of generative AI and companies’ ability to deploy effective governance and safeguards.
