Hollywood Actor Ben McKenzie Releases Trailer for Anti-Crypto Documentary

Ben McKenzie, known for roles in The O.C. and Gotham, has become a cryptocurrency critic in recent years and co-authored Easy Money with journalist Jacob Silverman in 2023. The documentary extends their investigation, examining how the industry attracts investors through celebrity endorsements, political influence and promises of high returns, as well as the risks created by regulatory failures.

The distributor released a trailer on March 10, 2026, for the 90-minute documentary Everyone Is Lying to You for Money. The film includes interviews conducted in 2022 with SBF, former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky and El Salvador President Nayib Bukele. It presses SBF about roughly $40 million in political contributions. Celsius and FTX subsequently filed for bankruptcy on July 13 and November 11, 2022, respectively.
