M&T Bank Names Kalyana Bedhu Head of AI Engineering

M&T Bank, a regional lender headquartered in Buffalo, New York, is strengthening its artificial intelligence leadership as banks seek to move AI from experiments into core operations. M&T Bank has appointed Kalyana Bedhu as head of AI engineering, putting him in charge of the bank’s AI engineering development and innovative applications. The move gives the lender a senior executive responsible for advancing the technology across the organization. As of Aug. 13, 2026, M&T had not disclosed an effective date, reporting structure, compensation figure or additional investment budget tied to the appointment.
