WLF Launches First USD1-Settled TradFi Perpetual Market on Aster

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-21 · Last active 2026-08-21

World Liberty Financial, a crypto venture backed by U.S. President Donald Trump’s family, is expanding the role of its USD1 stablecoin beyond payments and reserve holdings. Moving USD1 into onchain perpetual futures gives the token a foothold in a high-frequency derivatives market, where settlement assets can generate deeper liquidity and recurring demand from leveraged traders.

WLF has launched what it described as the first TradFi perpetual market settled in USD1 on the Aster platform. The project supplied 250 million WLFI tokens and 12.5 million USD1 to support liquidity at launch. The rollout positions USD1 as both the pricing and settlement currency for contracts linked to traditional financial markets, broadening its utility within Aster’s trading ecosystem.

Trump Family-Backed DeFi Project WLFI Attacked; USD1 Regains Peg After Brief Volatility2026-02-24 · 1 reports · similarity 0.82

World Liberty Financial, or WLFI, is a DeFi project backed by the Trump family whose USD1 stablecoin aims to maintain a peg of $1 per token. The close association between a political family’s brand and crypto finance has drawn scrutiny of account security, reserve transparency and market confidence.

The project recently faced a coordinated attack in which hackers compromised a founder’s account to spread panic while taking short positions, briefly pushing USD1 down to $0.9942. The project said funds were safe and its stabilization mechanism was functioning normally. As of July 20, 2026, USD1 had regained its peg, though the WLFI governance token remained under downward pressure.
