eToro to Buy TradeZero for Up to $231 Million in US Equity Push

2 reports · First detected 2026-08-12 · Last active 2026-08-12

eToro, a multi-asset platform serving retail investors, has been expanding its US equities and options business while reducing its reliance on cryptocurrency trading. TradeZero caters to active traders and brings US brokerage capabilities, trading technology and an established customer base. Buying the company would give eToro a faster route to broaden its products and strengthen its position in the competitive US digital-brokerage market.

eToro said on Aug. 11, 2026, it agreed to acquire TradeZero for as much as $231 million, using cash and up to 2.5 million newly issued Class A common shares. The announcement accompanied second-quarter results showing net contribution rose 9% from a year earlier to $229 million, supported by strong equities demand. Despite the growth and US expansion plan, eToro shares fell about 10% following the news.
