KGI Bank Wins Second Straight Friendly Service Award
Taiwan’s rapid aging and shift to digital banking risk leaving older customers and people with visual or hearing impairments behind. KGI Bank has responded by extending fair-treatment standards across branches, ATMs, its website and mobile banking app. Measures include accessible counters, sign-language interpretation by video, voice-enabled ATMs and screen-reader support for account inquiries and transfers, making access to essential financial services a test of both customer care and digital inclusion.
On July 1, 2026, KGI Bank received the Taiwan Service Industry Evaluation’s Friendly Service Award for a second consecutive year, the only financial institution to do so. Financial Supervisory Commission Chairperson Jin-Lung Peng presented the award to KGI Bank President Lin Su-Chen. The bank said its 24-hour digital assistant, 荷包君, delivers answer accuracy above 99% and uses text-to-speech and speech-to-text technology. Its website has also received Taiwan’s top AAA accessibility certification, while the mobile app supports voice guidance for transfers and account checks.
