Bloomberg to Acquire Canoe Intelligence in Private Markets Push
Founded inside a family office in 2013, Canoe Intelligence uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to collect, extract and normalize private-fund documents, cash flows and holdings data. Its technology addresses a persistent problem in alternative investments, where fragmented reporting has left institutions and wealth managers reliant on labor-intensive data entry. Adding Canoe would help Bloomberg extend its established public-markets data and analytics business deeper into private markets.
Bloomberg said on July 29, 2026, that it had agreed to acquire Canoe, without disclosing the purchase price or an expected closing date. The deal follows an April 8 integration that began delivering Canoe’s private-fund data into Bloomberg PORT Enterprise for portfolio and risk analysis. Canoe has raised more than $80 million, including a $36 million Series C led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives in July 2024, with F-Prime Capital and Eight Roads also participating.
