Google Chrome 147 Update Patches Critical WebML Flaws

Google Chrome is one of the world's most widely used browsers and includes the WebML machine-learning API, the V8 JavaScript engine and media-processing components. These modules can directly process web input, so memory-safety flaws could allow attackers to use malicious content to crash programs or potentially compromise device security. That makes patching critical vulnerabilities particularly important.

Google released a Chrome 147 security update in 2026 that patched 60 vulnerabilities. WebML flaws CVE-2026-5858 and CVE-2026-5859 were classified as critical and could cause memory overflows. The release also fixed issues in the V8 engine and media components, and users should update to the latest version as soon as possible.
