Mingtai Insurance Builds On-Premises LLM Capacity, Launches First-of-Kind Courier and Athlete Policies

2 reports · First detected 2026-04-27 · Last active 2026-04-27

Mingtai Insurance has invested more than NT$10 million in its digital transformation, purchasing dedicated GPUs to build on-premises computing capacity for large language models while safeguarding insurance-data privacy and information security. It has also adopted a model in which AI generates initial drafts and humans make decisions. Drawing on experience from its Japanese parent company, the insurer is addressing emerging risks, including gaps in coverage for platform workers and athletes.

Mingtai Insurance recently said its on-premises LLM was being used for internal collaboration, accelerating document drafting and decision support. It has also launched what it says are the market's first third-party liability policy for delivery couriers and dedicated insurance for athletes, expanding services to groups that have historically lacked adequate coverage. The company is targeting a 7% share of the property and casualty insurance market, though reports did not disclose a specific launch date or deadline for reaching the target.
