eToro to Buy TradeZero as Q2 Crypto Revenue Slides 30%
eToro operates a multi-asset trading platform spanning equities, cryptoassets and derivatives. As weaker crypto activity exposes the volatility of transaction-based revenue, expanding its US brokerage business has become central to diversifying growth. TradeZero, an online broker geared toward active traders, brings an established customer base and trading infrastructure in the United States, giving eToro a faster route to add products and deepen its presence in the world’s largest capital market.
On Aug. 11, 2026, eToro agreed to acquire TradeZero for as much as $231 million in cash and stock, including up to 2.5 million newly issued Class A shares. TradeZero generated about $80 million of revenue over the previous 12 months. For the quarter ended June 30, eToro’s cryptoasset revenue fell about 30% from a year earlier to $1.34 billion. Net income rose 77% to $53 million, beating estimates despite the crypto decline.
